Ab Coaster Reviews - Worth Paying $400?

Reducing abdominal muscles and getting flat abdomen is a dream to every man and woman. It is not that easy to lose your belly fat or tighten your abdominal muscles.

You have to do thousands of crunches and sit ups, follow proper diet, mix your workout routine with cardio and so on. Seldom do people have time to go through all this. Hence, the fitness industry has come up with a number of solutions such as the abs machines like Ab coaster.

Ab Coaster claims through grand infomercials containing guys and gals posing to show off their flat abs and well built muscles. They claim that since the machine helps you to perform reverse crunches, you would effectively reduce abdominal muscles in no time.

However there are quite a few doubts about the reliability and consumer satisfaction in this product.

Working Principle – Will it Produce Results?

The main exercise by which they claim to lose belly fat is reverse crunches. You do workouts in the Ab coaster by placing the ankles in the seat and moving your knees up and down. This might not produce enough workouts for your abs.

A good reverse crunch is one in which your knees almost touches your chest region. However, in ab coaster, this motion is only half completed and it produces more strain on your ankles and legs rather than your abs. Moreover, reverse crunches can only help you to strengthen you ab muscles, but you cannot lose your belly fat doing just ab crunches.

Not suitable for beginners

Ab exercises are generally tougher than many other exercises and especially reverse crunches in one of the toughest ab exercise. It might not look difficult while watching a video where a professional does it at ease. But for beginners, it takes more time to get used to the exercise and to do it perfectly to reap maximum benefits.

Hence, Ab coaster might not be the best choice for beginners who have hardly done any exercises in the past.

The high price

Ab Coaster comes for a whopping $400, which is a very high price and is not affordable by everyone. Of course the infomercials promise you a free trial for 30 days, but are these trials really free?

Well, customers of Ab Coaster do not feel so. Here is what July has to say about Ab Coaster free trial.

“I was greatly impressed by the infomercial that I viewed on TV and immediately ordered for the trial offer. They had told it was free. But when I ordered they asked me to pay $14.95 as handling charges. $15 of course is a nominal amount and I paid it happily.

I waited for almost a week for the machine to reach me. I got it after 8 days. The moment I opened the package I was in for a surprise. Some of the screws were not in place. They were missing.

Since I did not want to waste the trial period, I went to a nearby hardware shop and got the screws fixed. I began trying only after 15 days and what to expect, there was too much noise every time I worked on the machine.

I finally decided to send the machine back for which I had to pay $50 as shipping charges. I would never recommend people to buy this device. It is a total waste of money”.

The above review doesn’t mean that all the ab coaster machines are defective. But $400 seems to be overpriced for this product.

Takes too much room

The size of Ab Coaster is 51” Long x 25” Wide x 50” High. It takes a lot of room and cannot be pushed to a corner. In a studio apartment it would be a real mess.

Other concerns are

  • Takes time to get used to working in it.
  • Better alternatives are available in the market at better price.
  • Not very user friendly for beginners. However, professionals can use it as one of their ab workouts.

Alternatives

Ab Circle Pro
, which has sold over 1 million ab machines is one of the best alternatives for Ab Coaster. Ab coaster can only help you to strengthen your ab muscles. But you cannot lose belly fat as it does not involves in any cardio workouts.

Whereas,Ab circle pro does both ab workouts and cardio which is the key to lose belly fat.

Conclusion

Though the machine is based on reverse crunches, its workability is limited and is low when compared to its price for beginners. Unless you are a professional body builder who desperately wants to have this as one of your ab exercise for ab toning, we would not recommend it.
